Positive

IN ANSWER to the negative letters that have been submitted in the last few weeks about The Children's Society, I feel I should state a more positive side.

I, personally, have no direct contact with The Children's Society, but have been to numerous very successful events organised by the committee. These events are always very well attended and much enjoyed as shown by the sums raised.

Perhaps, instead of thinking of borders, the emphasis should be on children, they are who the money is raised for after all. When children run away from home the chances are they will cross a border, Wales to England, England to Wales.

There is a fund of money that is used for children who need care and help all over Britain. That is why money is raised by The Children's Society, to help children. I think we should leave the very hard-working group of people who are dedicated to raising money for this charity alone.

Everything they raise is for children and children alone. After all many of us do nothing, which is fine, but don't deride those who do, especially anonymously
