Penarth Pier to star in top advert

PENARTH Pier has been used in a national advertising campaign for Heinz soup.

The campaign features fresh vegetables growing in some very unexpected places.

The full-page advertisement for Heinz's latest range of soups appeared in the Mail on Sunday supplement on October 10.

Various media groups have used Penarth as a location for filming and advertisements in recent months.

A BBC crew visited the town last month to film part of the new series of Doctor Who in and around Headlands School on Paget Place.

The series stars Christopher Eccelston as Doctor Who and Billie Piper as the doctor's assistant Rose Tyler.

In August the hugely popular CBBC show Tracy Beaker was filmed in Glebe Street, Alexandra Park along with other well-known locations in the town centre.

BBC Wales has filmed extensively in Penarth for its hit drama series Belonging.

S4C were also in town over the summer to film an episode of A470, a 16 part drama series which will be broadcast in the New Year.

Cadbury's recently filmed a series of short scenes to be shown at the start of ITV's Coronation Street in Barry. In each scene a couple was filmed moving into a real Coronation Street somewhere in Britain enjoying the programme while munching on Cadbury's goodies.

Penarth Pier has also featured in a number of S4C dramas and films over the years.
