FIRST Minister Rhodri Morgan paid tribute to Welsh Olympic Bronze Medallist David Davies during a visit to the National Assembly on Wednesday, October 13.
In winning his medal the 19-year-old swimmer from Barry smashed the British and European records in the men's 1500m in Athens this year. The First Minister said: "David Davies' Olympic medal was the first by a Welsh swimmer since Martyn Woodroffe's silver in Mexico City 36 years ago.
"He is a credit to Wales and an inspiration to other young swimmers. David's career has only just begun. I am confident that he will go on raising his game and smash many more records and win many more Commonwealth, European, World and Olympic medals in the years to come."
