CD Review - Rock Chicks

ROCK CHICKS is a compilation of soft-rock classics from the wind-machine-blown, leather-clad divas of the 1980s. This 2-disc set includes power-pop stormers from the likes of the gravel-voiced Bonnie Tyler, the big-gun-straddling Cher, the pouty Jennifer Rush and the slinky black-velvetted Alannah Myles.

Best possible way to sell this album to potential customers would be to print a complete list of the tracks - there's 38 - and all of them are classics.

From the sweet First Time reminiscence, offered by Robin Beck to the rip-roaring vocals demonstrated by the Patti Smith Group in Because The Night, it's a tour de force of the original and best girl power. Oh . . . apologies to Anastacia for pushing her into the category of 1980s artists, but you get the general gist . . .

You could wax lyrical on the memories these women would stir in the corners of your mind, as recollections of big-haired discos skitter past your eyes. Or you could just buy the album and listen to it in complete rhapsody!
