Horse poo

MY WIFE and I were recently taking a stroll along the Cliff Walk and were passed at close quarters by a pair of equestrians exercising their mounts at a reasonable canter.

What was astonishing to me was that there was no sign of a bucket or other suitable container on their saddles to scoop up any horse droppings.

Dog owners have to carry pooper scoops or other suitable containers to mop up after their pets and put such litter into the boxes provided. Otherwise they incur a penalty (no pun intended).

It may well be that horse riders apply suitable suppositories to their mounts to inhibit involuntary discharges, or imagine that their deposits would be welcome to zealous gardeners.
