So sorry

THIS IS a letter of apology. On Friday, October 29 at around 3.45pm, I was driving down Lavernock Road. After heavy rainfall, there was an area of flooding opposite Elfed Avenue and some boys were riding their bikes on the road, playing in the large puddle there. I was concerned they should move off the road before I reached the puddle, which they did.

Since I was concentrating on the safety of the boys on their bikes, I did not notice that some of their friends were standing on the flooded pavement. Unfortunately they got caught in the spray from my car and, from what I could see via my rear-view mirror, got a soaking.

Through your letters page, I would like to pass on my apologies to the boys concerned and my hopes that their mothers were understanding.
