Fireworks

FOR the 28th successive year, the Rotary, Round Table and rugby football clubs of Penarth are organising a Fireworks Fiesta to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night at the Athletic Field, Lavernock Road, Penarth, on Friday, November 5.

The purpose of the Fiesta is to provide a pleasant evening with a spectacular display of fireworks which can been enjoyed safely by families. The efforts of members of the clubs involved are committed to that end.

The Athletic Field provides an ideal location for the event, with plenty of room to ensure a good view for everyone.

Admission to the field will be from 6pm. The fireworks will commence at approximately 7pm, preceded by a Guy competition at 6.45pm, with prizes, which will be judged by the town mayor, the president of Rotary and chairman of Round Table.

The Fiesta is well established in the town's calendar of events and recognised as a safer way of celebrating Guy Fawkes Night.

Although not organised as a charity event specifically, the proceeds are used for local charity work. The Fiesta has been well supported by the people of Penarth and district in the past and we look forward to seeing them again this year.

James Carter (Past President of Rotary Club of Penarth, Chairman of Fireworks Fiesta Committee)
