ON BEHALF of the Lower Penarth Community Association, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported our recent fund-raising coffee morning, held in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.

The money raised, £134.32, will help to set up essential posts at Llandough and Velindre Hospitals and to re-furbish the chemotherapy unit at Llandough Hospital.

The committee members, who worked hard before and on the day; local businesses which generously contributed raffle prizes or provisions, Windsor Bookshop, Airport Direct Taxis, Hiplan Copyprint, Avana Bakeries and Brockhill Way Spar; and members of the community who attended, all contributed to an enjoyable event for a very worthwhile cause.

We look forward to the Penarth Times publicising next year's event so that it is even more successful.
