Carol plea

I'D LIKE to appeal to all readers who may be planning to celebrate the festive season with a carol concert or musical event, to consider singing - or playing - for ChildLine.

Our year-long challenge to musicians 'in tune with ChildLine' aims to raise £320,000 to enable us to counsel an extra 10,000 children and young people. We desperately need to raise these vital funds.

Last year, over the 12 days of Christmas alone, ChildLine counselled around 4,000 children. Children who felt they had nowhere else to turn. Children for whom Christmas was anything but a happy, fun-filled time.

So whether you're taking part in a Christmas concert, carol singing or karaoke singing at your Christmas night out, please think about raising funds for ChildLine at the same time - and help us answer more calls from lonely and frightened local children this Christmas.

It's so easy to get involved. You can emailintunewithchildline@childline.org.uk, visit www.childline.org .uk/extra/intune.asp, or call 0161 834 995.
