PENARTHIANS young and old gathered on Sunday to remember the war dead.
An impressive parade set off from the British Legion on Station Approach marching to the Garden of Remembrance near Alexandra Park where a minute's silence was observed and the Last Post was sounded.
A Remembrance Day service was later held at All Saints Church.
The service was conducted by vicar Peter Cox who is also legion chaplain.
MP Alun Michael and AM Lorraine Barrett took part in the parade which also included representatives from Penarth branches of the Air Cadets, the Sea Cadets, the Scouts and the Army Cadets.
The parade was led by deputy lieutenant Duncan Cantlay.
Mayor of Penarth Jill Penn and Huw Smart, police inspector for the Penarth sector, were also in attendance.
Representatives of the Coastguard and the Penarth lifeboat bore standards in the parade.
Parade organiser Richard James of the Penarth branch of the British Legion said: "We were very pleased with the turn-out on Sunday. I would like to say a special thank-you to Phil Morris, secretary of the British Legion, and the other musicians he brought together for the parade. They gave their services freely and sounded superb."
