EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of November 23, 1979:

A speed-up in the time schedule for a new road link is being urged to alleviate the traffic delays between Penarth and Cardiff.

Olympic gold medallist Lynn Davies presented a cheque for £2,050 to John Pile, vice-captain of the Cardiff and District Muscular Dystrophy Group at St Cyres School.

Kevin Willoughby, aged 22, of Croffta, Southra Park, Dinas Powys, is one of two officers manning a special unit which has been set up at Cardiff's Commercial Jobcentre.

There was no shortage of volunteers to try out the steel drums at the Caribbean evening held by St Andrew's Church- in-Wales School PTA at the Parish Hall, Dinas Powys, last Saturday night.
