EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of December 7, 1979:

l Llandough Jubilee Pack entertained senior citizens at last Saturday's Christmas Good Turn, held at All Saints' Church Hall.

l A petition has been collected by Plaid Cymru Youth -Ieuenctid Penarth, protesting at the lack of leisure facilities in the town.

l Commodore of Penarth Yacht Club, Barrie Simpson-Wells presented the Ladies' Plate to Champion, Lynne Shaw at Penarth Yacht Club's dinner-dance held at Peg's, Penarth Pier, last Friday.

l Members of Penarth Model Railway Club are building an impressive scale model to re-create the Penarth Town Station as it was more than 50 years ago.

l Staff of "Gardenhurst" Home for the Elderly, Holmesdale Place, Penarth, set off on a sponsored walk from Cardiff to Penarth last Sunday morning to raise funds for the purchase of a pool table for residents at the home.
