U2: How to dismantle an atomic bomb How to dismantle an atomic bomb

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb is truly an exceptional album, and U2's eleventh to date. It has clarity, scope and vision, and has rediscovered that vital something many fans thought was missing in their last album All That You Can't Leave Behind. The band's experimental phase seems to have been put behind them, and there is definitely more of an edge to this new album.

The first track and single Vertigo is a punkish, aggressive affair, but this isn't the full picture.

With the next track, the wonderful, slow-burning Miracle Drug, the album completely changes direction. This really sets the tone for the rest of the album and some fine tunes, like City Of Blinding Lights, a true U2 song if there ever was one, and kind of reminiscent of Where Streets Have No Name.

U2 have delivered the goods yet again. Only time will tell if this one will be as fondly remembered as The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby.
