I AM glad to hear that the Glamorgan Hunt will continue after the ban, which is due to come into force in February, hopefully by using the cruelty-free 'drag' method.
This is a method that can safely allow the hunt to continue without the blood and sick scenes of cruelty, and those who are currently involved in the hunt can continue just like before.
So yes, when the ban comes into force, hunting can still continue to be a part of life for some in the Vale of Glamorgan.
However, worryingly, it seems that the joint master of the hunt, Lt Col Rhodri Traherne, cannot accept that democracy will, thankfully, put a stop to this cruel, sick and barbaric blood sport.
He claims that the ban is a useless piece of legislation which was supported by Labour's bigoted class warriors. Does he then not accept democracy in action? Does he not realise that even many Tories, such as Ann Widdicombe, have supported the ban?
I am afraid that the law is the law, which he must accept, especially being a man of his standing. Yes, hunting can survive, and yes, it can continue, but only as long as it is cruelty free.
Richard Bertin,
Barry.
