Are any of the Wild Ones still around?

I WAS looking through your Picture Special way back in September and it prompted me to dig out the enclosed photograph and request the help of your readers.

As you can see from the photo, Penarth had its own Marlon Brando and the Wild Ones who used to meet up regularly on Penarth Prom on a weekend.

I hasten to add that we were very well-behaved - our aim being to look real cool and macho and impress the girls! We were fairly successful, too!

This shot was taken in May 1960 at our usual meeting place: outside the Rendevous Caf on the prom. Is the caf still there?

In the photo from left to right are: myself, sitting on my Norton Dominator 99; next to my bike is a Triumph Tiger 110 with its proud owner Tony Holliman. The next machine in the line-up is a BSA 650cc Gold Flash, but I cannot recall the names of the other lads.

So, if any of your readers can recognise the members of the Wild Ones, or better still the lads themselves, could they get in touch with me as I would be delighted.

I still have a great passion for motorcycling and currently ride a Triumph Bonneville to classic and vintage shows, with some like-minded friends.

Although we are not the Wild Ones any more, we are more often referred to as the "Wrinkly Riders"!
