'Alarmist'

Re: Beachcliff Development

Amanda Lyons' comments in her letter (Penarth Times, February 3) are, in my opinion, typical of the out-of-date, old-fashioned and small mindedness of the people of Penarth who must be living in a world of fantasy and make-believe.

To think of Penarth as our little Victorian backwater is surely fantasy and make-believe.

Also, I can't help thinking Amanda J M Lyons is maybe just one of the alarmists and scaremongers who are, or will be, at work trying to get people to believe Beachcliff is going to be totally demolished and rebuilt from scratch in concrete and glass.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is not the plan.

Already I think Mr Fear of Decourcy is going to be in for a long hard struggle due to some of the people of Penarth being so old-fashioned, out-of-date, small-minded and afraid of change.
