Prediction

FOR some time I have predicted the permanent closure, both day and night, of the Alexandra Park access gate at the rear of Seabank Flats/former park keeper's lodge, now privately owned.

This would then provide a plot of land just inside the park for a house to be built. A prospective purchaser of that plot of land could purchase the area just inside this lower park entrance.

I wouldn't have thought planning permission for a dwelling house would be difficult as the plot of land is already surrounded by the former park keeper's lodge, Seabank Flats and Alexandra Court, and The Glade.

I feel the 'temporary' trial period of the closure at night on Fridays and Saturdays is the first move towards a non-existent entrance/exit to the park at this gate.

I would also predict a similar move will be made for the permanent closure of the Bridgeman Road gate to the park, for the same reasons.
