Memory of a special child

JAMIE'S parents always knew he would be a special child.

Born on Christmas Day, Jamie was in the newspapers from the very start as the first child to be born in the Vale on December 25.

And they are now convinced that he went through the pain and suffering he did to raise awareness of leukaemia.

Paul said: 'It's up to us now, to make sure no other child has to go through this pain.

'Leukaemia is the biggest child killer in the country. The main problem is that we do not know what causes it - and that's why we want to raise the money. If we can find the cause, we might be able to find a cure. And if we can spare one family this turmoil, it'll all be worth it and Jamie won't have died for nothing.

'If every household gave just £1, we could raise more than £12,000 in Penarth alone and over £48,000 throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

'This would go to the Great Ormond Street charity Children with Leukaemia and to LATCH in Llandough.'
