AS an RNIB Community Fundraising Manager I am always looking for new volunteers to join my existing team in Mid, South and West Wales.
Every day more than 100 people start to lose their sight.
The Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB) helps to rebuild lives devastated by sight loss by providing more than 60 services for adults and children who are blind or visually impaired.
There are a variety of volunteering roles currently available throughout your local area. People are required to conduct collections in local supermarkets and to count and bank the money.
In addition, I am looking for people interested in organising ad hoc fundraising events relating to things that they may already be involved in - such as charity golf days, coffee mornings and activities at a local church or school.
As an organisation we receive no Government or statutory funding and rely on generous public donations.
Much of our funding comes from our famous Sooty boxes which many readers may have seen in shops, restaurants and pubs throughout the area.
In order to collect and bank the donations generated through Sooty I am looking for volunteers to support as Box Collectors throughout Mid, South and West Wales.
Any readers who feel they can offer a few hours per month to undertake this rewarding work should contact me to discuss these flexible volunteering opportunities within RNIB Cymru.
I can be contacted on 01443 237473 or alternatively by e-mail on karen.brocklebank@rnib.org.uk.
Thank you for your support.
