Footpath

I REFER to Mr Bell's letter (February 24) on the cleanliness of the footpath between Plymouth Road and Bridgeman Road, Penarth, commonly known as the 'Dolly Steps.'

It is regrettable that the Vale of Glamorgan Council cannot meet everyone's expectations but the cleanliness of this area is addressed every two months.

There are only a certain amount of resources available to this division, and our cleansing programme is geared to prioritising areas requiring the most attention.

I can assure the public that we are always investigating initiatives to help exceed basic requirements and constantly striving to improve our community services.

I would encourage anyone who may feel dissatisfied with regard to our cleansing activities to contact the Council's call centre on 029 2067 3000.

Colin Smith
