Get fit in aid of Ty Hafan hospice

IT'S that time of year again - you can get fit and help Ty Hafan at the same time!

The annual Waterfront Barry Ty Hafan 5K, sponsored by ABP and the WDA, is almost upon us and with spring just around the corner you can get fit for the sixth annual run on Sunday, May 15.

Last year the event raised over 31,000 for the hospice, with 800 runners registering to take part.

This year Ty Hafan would like lots more people to sign up and help beat last years total.

Entries are already coming in, so get your form now to be sure of a place in one of the few road races remaining in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Entry costs just 7 for AAW members and 8 for non members.

Entry forms are available from the Ty Hafan appeal office on 01446 739993, Gilesports shops, most leisure centres and health clubs, and can also be downloaded from the Ty Hafan website www.tyhafan.org

Everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a race medal, a goody bag and a bottle of Brecon Carreg water.

Sandie Middleton, the event organiser, said: "We all want to get fit or lose weight in time for the summer months.

"By signing up to take part in the Waterfront Barry 5K Run you have a reason to train and achieve a good level of fitness - as well as helping a very worthy cause."
