Sea View

I WAS intrigued by the report of the meeting about the buildings to be built next to the flats on the Prom.

The question was asked to whether there would be a view of the sea from the Windsor Gardens.

The answer given was that there would be a view of the sea. But the speaker didn't qualify his statement by saying that the viewer had to walk further along the Gardens to get it.

Furthermore, why did the questioner ask the question in the first place?

Surely he or she knew that there is no view at the moment from the Gardens because of the existing buildings anyway.

The new building will be even higher than the matchbox flats next door anyway so, unless the proposed buildings are to be made of glass, of course the sea won't be visible from the Gardens at that point.

I am reminded of the patient who asked his doctor if he could play the guitar after his injured hand was healed. The doctor said he would be able to and the patient said that was wonderful because he couldn't play before the hand was injured.
