Tax blame

WE have had months of spin and hype over this year"s council tax, and the blame game between the Vale, Cardiff Bay and Westminster as to whose fault it was going to be when it hit us.

We"ve also had our annual glossy letter from the Vale telling us how good they are.

At last the secret is out and we have the answer to the only question we"re all really interested in: "How much will I have to pay?"

The answer in my case is worse than my worst nightmare: 2004/2005 Council Tax £817.94; 2005/2006 Council Tax £1,044.15 That is a rise of 27.65%! What will I get for all this extra money?

Nothing - not even one additional black bin liner, which I could do with to fill with the garbage that pours from most politicians" mouths,

Thanks for nothing Vale of Glamorgan Council, Rhodri Morgan and Tony Blair.
