'Problem solved'on the website

VALE residents can now report problems online, thanks to a new service on the Council's website.

All sorts of street-related problems can now be reported using a quick and easy web form, saving residents the time and effort of telephoning the council or calling in person.

A wide range of issues can be reported using the online form, from abandoned vehicles and footpath obstructions to dog fouling and flytipping problems.

All the information collected is sent straight to the relevant Council department, and the problem will be dealt with as soon as possible.

The online Report a Problem form is provided in addition to the council's Visible Services contact centre, which can still be reached on 029 2067 3000 by those without internet access.

The new feature is an additional way of contacting the council for people who prefer to communicate electronically or who already use the website.

Head of Visible Services Miles Punter said: "Most of the enquiries received by the council are about issues such as litter, street lighting and pavements, so it is good news that there is now an additional way for people to report such problems.

"It's ideal for anyone who regularly uses the internet or would prefer to fill in a quick and simple form rather than ringing to speak to someone.

"We will deal with all enquiries received as quickly as possible, and are grateful to anyone who takes the time and trouble to report their concerns to us."
