Sign up for marathon

IF the sight of the determined runners in this year's London Marathon has inspired you, then it's not too early to consider running next year - and raising money for Marie Curie Hospice Penarth.

Hospice fundraiser Michelle Osborne begins the task of recruiting new London Marathon runners almost from the moment when the last runner has crosses the finish.

"As a region we had 20 runners braving the 26 miles last Sunday," said Michelle, recently appointed to her role with the charity.

"Next year we hope to have even more runners to support our cause - the Marie Curie Hospice Centre in Penarth."

For those interested in tackling the race, places can be hard to come by as the event is always over-subscribed.

Marie Curie Cancer Care encourage runners to apply for their own places, but the charity is also able to offer a number of special reserved Gold Bond Places - so as to be able to guarantee a place for a runner in next year's event.
