Dangerous mess at beach

YOU may be forgiven if you thought this was a picture of some derelict building site or perhaps a depiction of ground zero. But no, it is the beach at Sully, where back in the past when people cared about the environment there was a small but picturesque area of pebbles and sand where children used to play.

Now because of councils and other involved parties passing the buck and blaming each other for allowing the tipping of this concrete mess we have it seems reached stalemate. Some months ago a poor dog was impaled on one of the numerous spikes littered on the beach. Thankfully, although badly injured, it survived.

What if this had been a small child and what if the spike had an infection on it from the numerous rats who feed on the takeaway droppings left by uncaring litter droppers? Well I suppose the buck would have passed around at a rate of knots disappearing where the sun don't shine.

Come on Sully Community Council, come on the Vale Council, come on you candidates who are promising anything to win votes - let's see what you can do! Or do we wait for a tsunami to wash this rubbish away?
