AROUND 50 women employed by the Vale Council as Teachers' Aides and Nursery Nurses formed a picket outside the Council Offices in Barry last week in a dispute over pay and conditions.
Ralph Cook, a spokesman for the south Wales school support staff group, said: "The new terms see savage cuts to nursery nurse salaries by up to 3,630, depending on length of service and hours worked.
"The impact on teachers' aides' salaries is similar. They face an increase in hours worked annually by 97.5 and up to 1,327.08 in cuts in salary."
