Wanderers on target for exciting victory

DINAS Wanderers played home to the Llandough Legion this week and recorded a good 7-4 win.

Brian Nurse got things going for the Wanderers with 140 x4 after partner Will scored 137 140. Bill Stavrakis followed up with 132 x9.

The Legion's point in the pairs came from Martin Meadon, scoring 10 and an 86 out shot on x16 after Dave Purser hit 123.

The Wanderers won four singles with Will 122 x12, Bill 100 x1, Eddie x5 and Rhys x1. Legion's winners were Martin 119 x1 and Dave 100 x10. Rhys took the first threes for the Wanderers with x8 after Brian and Will hit tons. The Legion regained their composure to win the last threes with Ian hitting 140 x2 after Dave hit 140 and John 100. In the other league match the Pilot turned over the Cogan 9-2.

The Pilot started by taking all three pairs legs with Kevin Wingren x14, Paul Wingren 105 x1 and John Clark 100 x14.

The Pilot went on to win the first five singles on the trot through John 100 x1, Paul 100 x4, Jack 140 x12, Rob 119 x20 and Steve 132 x20. The sole winner for the Cogan was Mitch Wainwright 100 x18. Kevin took the first of the three-a-sides with x8, Mitch Wainwright won the next three-a-side leg on x6 to become the Cogan's only points scorer.
