Asbestos

THIS is in response to your article of May 26 about asbestos-related diseases and the symptoms you describe.

We would like to correct some inaccuracies.

1 Few have nail signs.

2 Very rarely does an X-ray pick up signs unless there is pleurisy (fluid on the lung) or Pleural Plaques or thickening of the lung lining, by which time many years have passed since first exposure.

3 Length of exposure is not indicative of severity of the disease.
