Thoroughly modern

A PENARTH woman will take audiences back to the roaring 1920s as part of the cast of West End musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, showing at the Wales Millennium Centre until August 20.

Laura Clements, 23, a former Stanwell pupil, is playing the part of Alice, one of Millie's friends.

She is also understudying the lead role of Millie.

Laura said: "This is my first job since leaving drama school. I was thrilled to have got such a big break.

"I studied drama at Stanwell. I got great experience there and also with Orbit theatre."

Laura studied drama at Bristol University and at Mountview School of Drama in London.
