Festival events

THE PENARTH Summer Festival has this year offered a varied and interesting programme, but not all the events have attracted the support they deserved.

One reason for this was lack of publicity. Organisers had been left to publicise their own events, resulting, in some cases, in very poor attendances. This is in no way a reflection on the hardworking and efficient staff of West House, who did a great job in administering the programme. The Festival highlighted, however, the need for a specialist publicity officer, who could manage public relations for the Town Council throughout the year. If this were not affordable, could not an agency in the future be given the job of publicising the Summer Festival? Either way, it would be a good investment for Penarth.
