FURTHER to the letter from Chris Arnold "Feline Friend" (Penarth Times, July 21).
The cat in question is "Winkle". She is a semi-feral garden cat, aged about 14.
She was originally very well looked after in Park Road, but for reasons unknown became a regular visitor to my garden.
Lately, it seemed she hardly left this garden. I fed her at least twice a day, shelter was available and my neighbour and I kept a close eye on her. We realised her sight was failing, but she was unapproachable.
I can only assume that she was frightened, maybe even chased (by a dog?) to find herself on the pier.
Winkle was rescued from the sea by Julia, from Sully. This sainted lady then put up posters on the front, which is how the ends joined up.
It seemed pointless to bring the cat back here. Julia has a large, secure garden, safe from dogs and she has decided to give Winkle the chance to have a nice life there.
Thank you Julia. It does restore one"s faith in human nature.
