A GRANT of almost 2,000 is set to provide some light relief for members of the Penarth Hard of Hearing Club.
The Awards for All Wales grant, presented to the group by Penarth AM Lorraine Barrett at the Trinity Methodist Church, Woodland Place, on Monday, will be used to buy a state-of-the-art Mobile Loop System.
Club treasurer John Homewood said they intend to buy the largest available portable loop, as it will greatly improve the quality of sound in the meeting room and provide immeasurable benefits to the club members.
Mr Homewood said: "As our membership is rapidly expanding, we are delighted with the grant and the benefits it will provide - which will enable us to expand the membership still further."
Mrs Barrett said: "As someone who has a hearing impairment myself, I know how difficult it can be to take part in everyday activities. This funding will enable the club to buy new equipment which will make life easier for club members."
