Nicola doubles up with singles win

THE annual Club Championship at Pen-arth Lawn Tennis Club once again proved to be a very successful event, with a record number of participants and some glorious weather over the tournament period.

In the men's tournament, the 2003 winner, Gavin Seymour, regained the title, beating Martin Radford in a tight three-set final, while Nicola Williams picked up her second successive ladies' singles title with a victory over Jo Penn.

Martin Radford and Dave Foster won the men's doubles and Nicola Williams with Isabel Cartwright won the ladies doubles.

Martin Radford and Nicola Williams completed a highly successful day by taking the mixed doubles trophy.

The post finals celebration was marked by an evening party, with live music from local band The Woods, who entertained an appreciative capacity audience.
