SULLY Centurions' all-rounder Lloyd Smith was named man of the match in Matthew Maynard's testimonial game in Cardiff on Monday evening, after scoring a run-a-ball unbeaten 85.
Maynard rounded off his illustrious playing career by leading a Wales XI to a six wicket victory against a star-studded Lashings World XI in a floodlit Thirty30 match at Sophia Gardens.
In front of a crowd of 4,000, the Wales XI restricted the World XI to 191-7 in their 30 overs allocation.
And 21-year-old Lloyd took the wicket of Chris Harris - the New Zealand international who shared a stand of 154 in 22.1 overs with former West Indian captain Richie Richardson - caught by 16-year-old Tom Maynard, son of Matthew.
The Welsh side lost two early wickets, but Lloyd and Matthew Maynard then steadied the ship with a stand of 112 in 16 overs.
Lloyd was a deserved choice as man-of-the-match as he left the field unbeaten on 85 off 87 balls, as the Wales team reached their target with six wickets in hand.
He said: "I was surprised just how well the whole night went for me.
"It was good experience to be with such great players."
