Sponsored walk Lights Up The Night for a good cause

THE annual Light up the Night sponsored walk took place at Dyffryn Gardens to raise funds for the Marie Curie Hospice Penarth on Friday last week.

The walk - a two-mile sponsored stroll around the award-winning gardens at Dyffryn House - took place at twilight.

Several hundred walkers joined the illuminated trek, which is a wonderful way to celebrate the memory of someone special, while raising much-needed funds for this invaluable local facility.

Rachal Minchinton, Community Fundraising Manager said: "Anyone who has taken part in the walk will know how wonderfully atmospheric it is.

"We asked all walkers to aim to raise at least £100 each.

"With that amount, we could raise enough funds to run the hospice for two days - that"s 30 patients and their families receiving the care they need, when they need it most."
