Joans crafty greeting

A PENARTH woman who feared for her life after a brush with breast cancer earlier this year is raising money for cancer research by making and selling hand-made cards for all occasions.

Joan Marsh, aged 63, an employee of the Penarth Times, found a lump in her breast at the end of May - which thankfully turned out to be benign.

Mrs Marsh has had 11 operations on her breasts in ten years, after several scares.

She said: "Breast cancer is terrifying. I have had a number of scares in my life and I wanted to find a way of contributing towards research.

"Making cards is something I used to do some years ago so it was just a matter of polishing up my skills."

Mrs Marsh makes personalised hand-crafted cards to order for all occasions.

Prices for the cards range from 1.20 to 2. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to cancer charities.
