Life coach teaches career lessons on TV

A SULLY woman was invited onto the GMTV couch with Lorraine Kelly this week to tell the nation how she has turned people's lives around in her job as a life coach.

Melanie Squire, 40, who works for Cardiff-based firm the Purple Hat, explained the methods she used to help people to rediscover themselves and find new and rewarding career paths.

Melanie said: "I worked in human resources and after a career break I discovered a gap in the market and managed to find an employer who was willing to let me develop the idea.

"We sit people down, listen to their dreams and put them on the right track to achieving them.

"Our clients are often highly-qualified people who are just not happy with their jobs or work/life balance.

"I once helped a very successfully scientist who had worked on groundbreaking drug-testing technology into a new career as a chiropractor.

"It is about giving people the confidence to take big decisions and giving them a more positive attitude. It is sad but true that 64 percent of Britons are unhappy in the job they are doing. You have to seize opportunities because life is not a rehearsal."
