PENARTH actress Alison Fitzjohn is looking forward to returning to South Wales when she will appear at the New Theatre in Cardiff between September 27 and October 1.
Alison is a member of the cast of the Birmingham Stage Company who will be performing two stories from Horrible Histories based on books written by Terry Deary, the world's best-selling non-fiction children's writer.
Using actors and 3D effects, the stories tell the tale of three travellers who journey from village to village entertaining spectators with their gruesome versions of the'Terrible Tudors' and'Vile Victorians'. Whilst performing a mysterious lady stops the action and tries to deliver a more factual based history. The struggle between blood, guts and gore against facts, figures and lists make the Horrible Histories entertaining for all the family.
Alison, 25, whose parents still live on Cowslip Drive, Penarth, attended St Cyres School up to the fifth year and then did her A levels at Stanwell School. It was at Stanwell that she was able to specialise in drama and she appeared in many of the school productions. After completing a degree in theatre acting at Bretton Hall in Wakefield, she has spent the last three years involved in many theatre productions and a variety of shows ranging from community theatre, television, rural touring and pantomime.
While growing up in Penarth, Alison saw lots of performances at the New Theatre and is delighted that she is realising her childhood ambition of appearing on the stage where she watched so many celebrities perform.
For details of the shows telephone the New Theatre Box Office on 2087 8889.
