THE AUTUMN will see some familiar faces return to exhibit their work at the Washington Gallery.
From October 21 to November 9, James Beale will be showing at the Washington with a new series of etchings and collagraphs inspired by harbours in France, the Balearics, the Greek Isles and in particular Poole Harbour.
His fascination is based on the colours, light and interaction of forms, which these settings provide.
Beale has exhibited around the UK and has won several awards for his printmaking.
The 56 Group Wales will be showing from September 30 to October 20.
This new exhibition by the 56 Group Wales will mark the fiftieth anniversary of the group's foundation and will include works by its current membership of twenty artists including well-known Welsh construction and watercolour artist Arthur Giardelli.
The Group has curated many exhibitions both in the UK and abroad and will include a wide range of artistic styles and concerns.
Pat Johnson, Jean Roberts and Lynn Walters will be showing from September 30 to October 20.
These three South Wales artists will be showing work, which is a personal response to animal identification markings.
Inspiration has been taken from a collection of branding irons and other tags used for marking animals. Pat Johnson uses felt made from merino fleece, and silk fibres and fabrics to make vessels whilst Jean Roberts spins her own yarns and uses natural dyes to weave tapestries.
Lynn Walters creates 3D standing sculptures from mild steel wire, anodised aluminium, and recycled tin.
Walters has recently been awarded a highly commended prize at the Welsh Artist of the Year in Cardiff.
