PENARTH chart-topper Jem, who has been nominated for a prestigious Q Award, will play her first gig in her native South Wales next month.
The former Evenlode Primary pupil and Stanwell sixth-former will perform at Cardiff University on November 29 as part of her first UK tour.
She has also been nominated for a Q Award in the category of Best New Artist.
She will be flying the flag for Wales at the awards, and is nominated alongside James Blunt, and the Mercury Music Prize-nominated acts The Magic Numbers, Kaiser Chiefs, Hard Fi and M.I.A.
The awards take place in London on October 10.
Jem will release another single in November to coincide with the tour.
She has already had three hit singles this year and her debut album has sold in excess of 300,000 copies since its release in March.
The album Finally Woken remains in the Top 30 this week, and has sold well over half a million copies worldwide.
