Jackie's life hits the high notes!

A 62-year-old electric guitar-playing housewife from Penarth is off on a "musical spending spree" after scooping £100,000 on a National Lottery scratchcard.

But Jackie Rudd"s win at the post office on Windsor Road nearly didn"t happen - because of the weather.

Jackie said: "I had a letter to post, but the weather was terrible and I didn"t fancy going out.

"I"m glad I did now! I don"t usually buy scratchcards, but the woman in front of me won £10, so I decided to have a go.

"When I saw I had won £100,000, I couldn"t believe it.

"The girls behind the counter offered me a cup of tea and a sit-down - I was in shock!"

Jackie, married to retired surveyor Richard, aged 65, is planning to buy a new acoustic guitar. She currently plays on a Fender electric guitar.

The couple are huge fans of The Shadows, and are members of a fan club which meets at a pub in Malpas, Newport.

Jackie and Richard plan to give their son Anthony, aged 26, and daughter Nicola, aged 34, a share of the prize, and will invest the rest.
