A CHARITY day at a Penarth golf club saw a special school get a perfect lift.
Pupils from Maes Ebbw School in Newport visited The Glamorganshire Golf Club to receive their specially adapted minibus, which was funded by good sports the Lord Taverners.
Maes Ebbw teacher Menna Lewis said the bus will make a dramatic difference to the school.
"We are extremely grateful to The Lord Taverners," she said.
"The minibus will be a huge asset, and will help to expand the curriculum and increase sports activity.
"The bus will be used constantly to help the children enjoy a fully rounded education."
Lord Taverners also enjoyed a round of golf during the charity day, and more than 11,000 was raised, with more than 20 teams taking part, and 80 people sitting down for a three-course dinner.
Organiser of their seventh charity golf event, Roy Cohen, said he was delighted with the day's success.
"It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and great to see the children from Maes Ebbw School benefiting from your fundraising," he said.
