Two stores for price of one!

PENARTH Town Centre is set to receive a boost with the arrival of two new stores opening up in the premises being vacated by Dan Evans.

Staff at Dan Evans have been informed of the new retailers opening branches in Penarth which are strongly believed to be Specsavers and Scottish clothing and homewear chain Mackays.

Katie Leafe, Business Development Manager, at Specsavers Opticians, said: "Specsavers Opticians is one of the fastest growing retailers in the UK and as such we"re constantly looking for potential new outlets, with Wales being a key area for our expansion. I can confirm that we are one of many retailers currently interested in the unit at Windsor Street, Penarth.

"Our future expansion programme ensures outstanding opportunities for optical professionals at all levels and an opening of a new store will present numerous job opportunities for the local community."

It is believed that Mackays will occupy the larger town-centre unit with Specsavers taking over the smaller one.

Staff at Dan Evans say they have been told that the new companies will not guarantee them jobs.
