Dance extravaganza!

CHILDREN from two Penarth schools joined in a Brazilian dance extravaganza at the Wales Millennium Centre last Friday.

Pupils from Erw'r Delyn School, some in wheelchairs, and pupils from St Joseph's RC Primary School, performed We Are All In The Same Boat - a vibrant blend of dance, storytelling, music and costume.

The pupils have spent the past three months working with renowned artists Fernanda Amaral (dance), Michael Harvey (storytelling) and Megan Lloyd (visual art) to develop and present this colourful event.

Jazz News, a highly-acclaimed youth jazz orchestra, played new pieces by Peter Stacey, a leading contemporary Welsh composer.

Fernanda Amaral, Brazilian-born director of Patua Dance, said: "It is great to see how much the children have achieved."
