Challenging course made tougher by a heavy frost

THREE year 7 pupils, Morgan Etheridge, Eloise Laity and twin brother Oliver Laity, from Westbourne School were selected to represent South Wales in the Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships held in Stoke.

On a very challenging course, made even harder by a heavy over-night frost, Eloise came 20th overall, the second South Wales girl to finish; Morgan came 27th overall, fifth boy home for South Wales; and Oliver finished 9th overall, second boy in for South Wales.

The South Wales girls' team came fourth out of eight regional teams; the boys came second out of eight therefore registering the best ever performance by the South Wales team.
