What the Dickens is going on at fair?

LAST Friday the Rotary Club of Dinas Powys were once again fortunate with the weather on what turned out to be yet another successful Dickensian Fair.

The Rotary Club members set up thirty-five stalls during the day including a Coconut Shy and Santa's Grotto; this year also saw the return of the Hot Chestnut stall. The Rotary Club raised approximately 1,500 for local charities with this year's sum being donated to Dinas Powis Voluntary Concern and Velindre Hospital amongst others.

A large number of local organisations took part including the Scouts, School PTA's, Animal Welfare organisations, Local Sporting Clubs and many more. The Cardiff Ladies Morris Dancers, The Vale of Glamorgan Band and The Welsh Society Choir entertained the crowds.

The Rotary Club wishes to thank those who gave up their time and facilities to make the event run smoothly. In particular they wish to thank Steve Jones, Peter Gill Associates, The Three Horse Shoes, Mark Griffiths Butcher, Alison Hubbard, Travis Perkins, The Venture Scouts, The Parish Hall and Wesley Court.
