Turkey trot is regular fixture

OVER the last six weeks, Dinas Powys Golf Club has held a nine-hole Turkey Trot on Tuesdays (Ladies' Day).

The results were as follows:

November 1 (42 entries) - winner Dorothy Amery 38-8.5=29.5, runner-up Maxine Hird 47-14=33.

November 8 (34 entries) - winner A Mahenthiralingam 23 points, runner-up Mrs S Smith 20 points.

November 15 (33 entries) - winner Jackie Boyes 47-14=33, from Mrs R Clode 44-11=33 and Lisa Riley 51-18=33.

On November 22, Jane Brown, who has been a member of the club longer than any other lady, won the Turkey Trot with 22 points. Jane only plays rarely now and everyone was thrilled she did so well.

Runners-up were Dorothy Williams and Angela Brown, both with 21 points, on the back six from Anne Davidson, Carol Ingram and Susan Thomas, with 19 points.

November 29 (39 entries) - winner Jean Woodman net 31, on back six from S Bridle net 31, back three from Mrs S Smith and Mrs J Boyce, net 31, back three.

December 6 (39 entries) - winner Mrs M Ball 20 points, runner-up Jackie Lewis 19 points, on back three from Mrs J Woodman and Mrs J Jones 19 points.

The Ladies' AGM was held last week and all members wished new captain Rosalea Clode well.
