Police hunt flasher who targets girls

POLICE say they are increasingly concerned about a pervert who is targeting teenage girls in Penarth.

Penarth Police are hunting a man who has indecently exposed himself on four separate occasions in the past month.

Mike George of Penarth police said: "We are increasingly concerned because this man is targeting young teenage girls, which is particularly disturbing.

"These incidents have had a very traumatic effect on the victims.

"We are appealing to the public for information to stop this man doing this again. We are also urging parents in the Penarth area to be extremely vigilant."

The man last struck on Monday, December 12 on Caynham Avenue where he was spotted on a door entry camera phone performing a sex act on himself outside someone"s front door.

On Friday, December 9 he approached two 16-year-old girls on Dinas Road at around midnight.

He covered his face with his clothing before exposing himself and performing a sex act on himself.

The man ran off and the girls say that he drove away in a red Ford Escort.

On December 7, he followed a young woman down Lavernock Road then moved in front of her before indecently exposing himself. Again he ran off.

And on Monday, November 28, the man followed two 13-year-old girls along Plymouth Road and approached them near the junction with Homesdale Place.

Again he indecently exposed himself.

Victims describe the man as white, approximately 19 to 20 years old, pale, possibly with fair hair, about 5ft 5in tall and of very slim build.

*The latest series of incidents follows an indecent exposure this summer when a man performed a sex act on himself in front of children at a play area in Cosmeston Park.
