Emotional ceremony to remember

PENARTH people remembered their loved ones at a moving ceremony - the switch-on of the Marie Curie Hospice Christmas lights.

Two hundred people attended the ceremony which was part of the hospice's Lights to Remember event that is running until January 6, inviting people to make a dedication and sponsor a light.

Over 500 people have made donations to the event so far, helping raise the 15,000 that is needed to fund the hospice on Christmas day.

Marie Curie Cancer Care would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the event and encourage others to join in, making a dedication in memory of a loved one.

If you would like to do so please contact Deborah Gale on 029 2042 6068 or visit the hospice.

The dedications are on display in the reception area for people to read.
